Interview with Steve Yaros, GM

Question: What will be new for fans this year?

Yaros: There will be a couple of surprises. We have hired a new fireworks company that synchronizes the fireworks with music. They are set off by computer. There will be a couple of surprises with our mascot Sherman as well. We have consulted with Dave Raymond who holds clinics and other services for mascots. Dave Raymond was the original Philly Phanatic.


Q: I knew his Dad, Tubby Raymond when he was baseball and football coach at the University of Delaware. Is part of the surprise that Everett Sykes is returning?

Yaros: We’ll be holding tryouts for a new person as former Sherman Everett Sykes’ schedule does not permit him to come back. Everett was a crown favorite and we all wanted him to return, but we just couldn’t work it out. We will also be introducing the Bird Flock and a Rally Bird.

We will also be bringing in a lot of entertainment acts this year to help make games an enjoyable event for fans of all ages. Announcements will be made on March 27th .
